About Spiti Valley

Spiti valley is a picturesque cold desert mountain area situated in North Eastern part of Himachal Pradesh state of India. Spiti means ‘Middle land’ and it’s the middle land between Tibet and India.

Spiti and Lahaul has the authentic history and there you get to see some of the oldest Buddhist Monasteries. Also the valley has insanely beautiful landscapes and no doubt it is India’s best place to do stargazing & astrophotography. It is seriously heaven for Astro photographers. There are two ways to enter the beautiful valley one Via Shimla-Kinnaur Highway which is accessible all over the year, and the other way is from Manali via Rohtang Pass which is only opens during summer when Rohtang Pass gets accessible for tourists . Rohtang pass connects the Kullu valley and Lahual -Spiti Valley.

Spiti valley Via Manali-Rohtang has treacherous curves and bad road condition compare to Shimla- Kinnaur but it is ideal for travellers looking for adventure road trips. Best Time to visit Spiti Valley is from June to September when road from both the sides are open and snow gets melted. You will see all the beautiful landscapes in Spiti valley from snow covered white mountains to brown cold desert.

Spiti is one of the most remotest area of India and the  second least populated place in India. Now days Spiti is most desirable destination for every India traveller, still there are many unexplored picturesque destinations to explore and  all the monasteries has the beautiful architecture which makes it worth to visit every travel enthusiast
